Chris Streveler took an unconventional path to the NFL. After playing college football at Minnesota and South Dakota, he continued his career in the CFL before eventually earning opportunities with several NFL teams, including the New York Jets. Along the way, he faced doubters, position changes, injuries and multiple roster setbacks.
In his interview on The Leverett Ball Show, Streveler shared the incredible story of finding out just hours before a Thursday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars that the Jets planned to use him. After spending the season on the practice squad, he was unexpectedly inserted into the game and provided an offensive spark. He had already been cut four times and wasn't sure whether he would get another chance to play in an NFL game, making the opportunity especially meaningful.
Streveler also discussed his experience playing alongside Aaron Rodgers and the lessons he learned from the future Hall of Fame quarterback. He highlighted Rodgers' incredible attention to detail and constant desire to improve, lessons Streveler now shares with the young quarterbacks he coaches.
